Job Description

The Department of Theater at Dartmouth College in Hanover, NH, invites applications for a full-time faculty position in Scenic Design at the rank of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor. We seek candidates whose knowledge and interests include the fields of Black Theater and/or Performance and the Global Majority. This appointment is expected to begin July 2025. Qualified candidates should demonstrate active interest in academic program-building, classroom teaching, mentoring student designers, and designing for Department Productions. Artistic practices essential for success include: both traditional and digital rendering; hand drafting; model building; Vectorworks and/or Auto-Cad skills; knowledge of period styles and ornament; interest in digital projection for the performing arts; scenic painting skills; and property design, management and construction. Qualified candidates should have a demonstrated commitment to supporting the needs of a demographically diverse student body and production staff.
